Work Location:160 Steele Point Dr, Fort Mill, SC

Shifts: Sunday night through Wednesday 8 pm to 6:30 am. Overtime on Thursday nights

Overview

The Automation Maintenance Technician will maintain automation systems for production. Identifies, develops, and implements new processes to improve productivity and efficiency in manufacturing operations.

What you will do:

  • Identifies and resolves problems with automation equipment with existing or potential solutions.
  • PLC programs, ability to troubleshoot ladder logic (read use for troubleshooting), components (CPU back planes, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet)
  • Perform all duties (repair, corrective, projects and PM’s) in an urgent, but safe manner.
  • Develops and recommends changes to proactive programs to increase machine uptime.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components-- photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, and encoders.
  • Mentor junior technicians by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationships across all levels in the organization
  • Strong demonstrated ability with understanding electrical schematics, control logic, volt and ohm meter use.
  • Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company and complies with all safety programs, policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.
  • Ability to work all days and shifts, including overtime (10 hours a day, 4 days a week operation, including holidays if needed). Friday overtime is frequently scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager.

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two-year Technical Mechatronics degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with automation and/or control systems (electronics) in an industrial manufacturing environment as a maintenance technician.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience troubleshooting and programming PLC's

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.

  • Ability to demonstrate onduct conforming to Masonite values and standards.
  • Ability to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result.
  • Ability to formulate a sound decision using the available information.
  • Possess the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.
  • Ability to identify and obtain the proper resources to correct conditions that affect employee safety and machine functionality.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and written using the English language.
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
  • Able to bend, push, pull, life, carry, and stand for shift.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Computer Skills:Intermediate computer knowledge, at an intermediate level in working with Microsoft Windows to include: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
